We had an amazing day today with the awesome people from the Mortgage Center! Several months ago they offered to put on a garage sale and donate all the proceeds to Windy City Canine Rescue! They had collected 4 trailers, one basement and a hallway full of donations from the generous people in our area. It was a ton of work for them to load, unload, display, sell and pack away all of the items in the plus 30 degree weather and we can't thank them enough. Through it all they were smiling and having a great time bartering with all the customers. We don't have a definite total yet, but the preliminary count has us smiling! Thank you again to the Mortgage Center and everyone who came out to support our rescue! We would encourage anyone looking for a mortgage to give these great people a call! ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! It brings tears to your eyes... It's this kind of thing that turns my despair into hope, a spot of lightat the end of the tunnel. There's a hell of a lot of people out there who really, really care, and it's this attitude that can change the world for the better. I often think there's no hope for this tired, abused old world of ours, but perhaps...
