Roxee is a Cocker Spaniel who is around 3 years old. If we had to describe her personality in three words or less we would say - happy, happy, happy. She has seen a lot of change in the last 2 days and she doesn't seem upset by any of it. We don't know too much about her history as the family who surrendered her to us had only had her for 1 day.
It was no fault of Roxee's that they only kept her a day. The family has an autistic son who wasn't quite ready for this new addition in his life. But in her short time with us we have already discovered quite a bit about her.
She is good with other dogs - she sniffs and wags at them and even attempts to play. She wags at cats, but after a quick sniff, ignores them. She is great with children and was not at all frightened by crying or yelling. She loves to eat and her portly little body reflects that. We'll be working on that with a strict diet and a lot more exercise. Right now, she gets winded pretty quickly, but once she has lost a few pounds, she'll be ready for fun whenever you are. She is house-trained and doesn't destroy things when left home alone and she loves to sleep on the bed with you, but can be convinced to use a pillow on the ground if you'd prefer.
If you are a jogger or a really active family, Roxee probably isn't the dog for you. But if you want a dog to keep you company and go for casual walks around Henderson or your neighborhood, she would make a wonderful companion. We have a feeling she'll be a low maintenance kind of girl but we'll keep you updated after she has been with us a while - if she isn't adopted first! :)
