Roxee is settling nicely into her foster home. They've discovered that she knows how to "sit" and "down" and sort of knows "stay". She is good at coming when called but will occasionally pretend she is deaf. Hmmm. I could be describing one of my dogs!
She is great on walks and likes to run a little too. She loves to play fetch and is great at bringing back the toy for it to be thrown again. She is affectionate, but not a huge cuddler. She likes to be near you, but not always touching and she always asks permission before hopping on the couch. She can be a little noisy at night with her snoring, but it is more cute than annoying. :) She is also great in the car - she just sits in a seat and watches the world go by or just curls up for a nap in the back.
Her separation anxiety isn't horrible but it's there. They are still working on the issue and don't feel that her noise would be disruptive if she lived in a house, but it might disturb the neighbors in an apartment building. The bigger issue at the moment is that she is obviously not feeling relaxed when she is home alone. We are hoping this will improve with time, patience and training.
She does have a tendency to guard her toys, but that shouldn't be a problem with just a little more work, she will just need to be watched with toys initially, especially around other dogs and kids.
On the whole, she is an amazingly well behaved dog and will be a great companion. Her foster parents are really enjoying looking after her and are going to have a hard time saying goodbye when it is time.
She is going to be groomed this weekend so stay tuned for an even cuter looking Roxee in her next post!
