Updates

We just have a few updates to share.  All the dogs in our care are doing great.  Even April will be doing fine soon - thanks to some incredibly, generous people!

April - Adoption Pending
Thank you, thank you, thank you. We can't say it enough.  Thanks to the very generous donations of many people, we have enough money to cover April's veterinary expenses!  She is doing well on her new diet plan and we hope to have her dental work done in the next little while.  Please keep your fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly for her.

Charlie
Charlie is doing great!  He is super cuddly and very well behaved around the house. He has been enjoying the good life with two walks a day is just an all around awesome dog.

Mya - ADOPTED
Mya is doing really well.  She has been out skijoring quite a bit with her foster mom. She is listening really well when off leash and comes when called.  She is doing better with other dogs and great with older kids.  She even went to work pulling a 9 yr old child around on a sled up and down the hills.  I wish my dogs would do that!

Mya has even participated in a race.  The race was 4 miles and Mya did awesome (they did it in 15 mins).  She handled the excitement of the race very well.  The dogs learn that when a leashed is hooked to their collar or gentle leader they are to walk nicely (no pulling) and when it is hooked to their harness they are allowed to pull.  Mya loves skijoring and running FAST. You can see a video of the race here - she is part of team #5 (look for the black dogs).  The dog running with her is her foster brother Epic.

Lily
Lily has really settled into her foster home and is getting quite used to the good life of living inside.  Especially in this weather!  She has proven that she is good with other dogs, good with cats and is really quite a sweet dog. She is doing well on the leash, in the crate, and is completely housetrained.  She has met quite a few new dogs & was great with them. Still can still be a little shy initially with some people but if the person is confident she, she picks up on their reassurance and trusts them.

Piper
Piper is doing great!  She really is just a big goofy girl.  Her leash walking is improving but she still needs a little work so that she doesn't pull on leash.  Nothing that a walking aide like an Easy Walk Harness, or Halti wouldn't fix!

She loves to learn and be busy, but is also learning how to just relax at home. She loves to play ball or frisbee although we hesitate to call it fetch as she is great at chasing down the toy, she just doesn't always bring it back to you!  LOL.  She is great with everyone she meets and is particularly fantastic with kids.  She really just needs someone to notice her and give her the home she deserves.

Our adoption fee allows us to provide the basics for the dogs in our care, but we are always encountering additional expenses (dental work, medicine for illnesses, etc.).  If you would like to help dogs like this one, but aren't looking to adopt one at this time, please consider a donation.  Thank you.
